Medical marijuana sales down through first six months of 2024

Medical marijuana purchases in Arkansas were up through the first six months of the year in terms of volume of product but down by about $5.5 million nonetheless, the state Department of Finance and Administration said this week. 

From January through June, patients bought 36,135 pounds of product for $135.5 million. During the same period last year, they bought 29,057 pounds for $141 million. 

Patients spent $22.8 million in April, $22.9 million in May and $21.7 million in June this year. 

During those three months, Suite 443 of Hot Springs was the state’s leading dispensary, with 1,818 pounds sold, followed by Natural Relief Dispensary of Sherwood with 1,709 pounds. 

The state Department of Health reported 105,666 active patient cards at the end of last week.
