Stir fry restaurant Genghis Grill, “the fresh bowl authority since 1998,” announced on social media Friday that its West Little Rock location at 12318 Chenal Parkway will close. Its last day in operation will be this Sunday, July 28.
The fast-casual Mongolian grill restaurant opened in the space formerly occupied by Fazoli’s in 2009, giving diners the opportunity to fill a bowl to their hearts’ desire with raw protein, vegetables, seasoning and sauces, and then report to a chef that would cook the contents on a round grill “as big as a flying saucer” according to an Arkansas Times 2009 dining review. Eric E. Harrison of the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette said at the time: “The disadvantage is that if you put together a bad combination of ingredients and it tastes awful, you have nobody to blame but yourself.”
