John Tyson, chief financial officer for Tyson Foods, used the occasion of the company’s quarterly conference call with investors to apologize for his recent arrest in Fayettevile on intoxication and trespass charges. He was found asleep in the bed of a woman who arrived home in the early morning hours. She didn’t know him.
“I’m embarrassed, and I want to let you know that I take full responsibility for my actions,” Tyson said on the company’s quarterly conference call.
“I just wanted you guys to hear this directly from me and to know that I’m committed to making sure this never happens again,” he added.
Tyson, 32, is the son of the company’s chair and great-grandson of its founder.
CEO Donnie King said the company board is reviewing the matter, but offered no other comments.
As for financial results, the company’s fiscal fourth-quarter earnings fell short of Wall Street’s estimates, but its revenue topped estimates, CNBC said.
