Trio’s is temporarily closing for the second time for repairs related to the EF-3 tornado that hit Little Rock on March 31, 2023. Starting today, the restaurant will be closed for two weeks to address issues with its ductwork.

When the tornado hit the restaurant — which is located in the Pavilion in the Park shopping center off Cantrell Road — Trio’s staff and several customers sheltered in the walk-in coolers while the front doors were blown off their hinges and debris was flying into the building. The damage kept Trio’s closed for a little more than six weeks after the storm.

We ran into Trio’s owner Capi Peck at H.O.M.E. Vegan Restaurant recently, and she told us the damage to the ventilation system was apparent right away but has steadily worsened over time. A post on the restaurant’s Facebook page said the silver lining is “no more smoky dining room Friday and Saturday nights.”

Trio’s plans to reopen Monday, April 1.
