SoMardi Gras Parade brings floats, superheroes, villains and luscious beards to South Main Street this Saturday
The 13th annual SoMardi Gras parade kicks off this Saturday, Feb. 18 at noon on South Main Street. The rain-or-shine New Orleans-style parade/block party is free to the public and will feature around 50 vendors, 40 float participants, live music, king cakes, muffulettas, beards, superheroes and more.

The Root Cafe to open a second location in Breckenridge Village, owners sell Mockingbird Bar & Tacos
We received a press release today confirming rumors that The Root Cafe is one of the restaurants planning to open in the new multi-million dollar Breckenridge Village redevelopment. Owners Jack Sundell and Corri Bristow-Sundell have sold Mockingbird Bar & Tacos to JLC Entertainment Holdings, owned by Johnny Campbell and Harry and Joe Einhorn. Little Rock Mayor hopeful Greg Henderson, commercial real estate agent and owner of Rock City Eats, brokered the sale of the restaurant, which closed today.
All day Sunday brunch is back at The Root
Back by popular demand, The Root Cafe announced that it will be serving brunch exclusively all day on Sundays from 9 a.m.-2 p.m. starting this Sunday.
