Monday marked the first day of the week-long candidate filing period for the 2024 election, and the Secretary of State’s Office reports 215 candidates filed the requisite paperwork to run.

All told, 85 Republicans and 39 Democrats registered to run for various House, Senate, federal, and constitutional offices. The largest group, however, were in the nonpartisan judicial races, where 90 candidates signed up. These 214 red and blue candidates were joined by a lone Independent.
