Park Plaza, “Little Rock’s premier shopping and retail destination,” announced that Mr Brews Taphouse, a gourmet burger and craft beer franchise, will open its first Arkansas location in the mall later this year. It will be the first sit-down restaurant to open at Park Plaza since Second Horizon Capital acquired the property in 2023.

“This new dining destination represents a significant step in the ongoing transformation of the center and will offer the Little Rock community an exceptional experience alongside great food, drinks and entertainment,” Second Horizon Capital co-founder and managing partner Howard Levine said.

According to a press release, Mr Brews offers more than 50 craft beer selections, which includes local, regional and international varieties.

The restaurant uses fresh ingredients to create endless varieties of All-American craft burgers. Diners can choose from specialty burgers such as the Peanut Buster, Kentucky Bourbon Classic, and Brew-Chetta burgers or make their own from a select list of prime toppings. The restaurant also offers a range of specialties, including burger bowls, salads, and flatbreads; and taphouse favorites such as the Philly Cheese Steak, fish tacos, and Wisconsin Cheese Curds. Mr Brews also offers a delicious, diverse kids menu to satisfy even the pickiest eaters.

Mr Brews Taphouse will be located near the mall’s main entrance on the south side facing West Markham Street. Based on a directory map, it looks like the area near where Ruby Tuesday’s once operated. Currently, the shopping center’s lower level food court feels a little bare compared to the bustling pre-iPhone era. There’s an Auntie Anne’s Pretzels shop, a Mandarin Express Chinese restaurant, bubble tea cafe, Bite & Bubble, and Candy & Nut Hut. Former sit down Chinese restaurant Forbidden City closed more than a decade ago.

Earlier this year, Zero Empty Spaces, a Florida-based management company that turns vacant storefronts into artist studios, announced it would open a new studio space for working visual artists on the mall’s third floor.

Mr Brews Taphouse was founded in 2013 and is headquartered in Birnamwood, Wisconsin. The restaurant’s opening date will be announced in the coming months.
