Gov. Sarah Huckabee Sanders sent out an announcement Monday about some much-needed funding for water projects throughout the state. “Governor Sarah Huckabee Sanders announced Arkansas is providing $60 million to address statewide water infrastructure needs,” is the first line. Sounds good!

This will be divided into $55 million “to address water, wastewater, and stormwater infrastructure projects” plus $5 million to the Arkansas Rural Water Association “to assist water and wastewater systems” in Arkansas, according to a press release from the governor’s office.

For the governor who infamously claimed the federal government would be “stopped cold” at the Mississippi River as long as she was governor, showing that her state can fund $60 million in water projects without the feds’ involvement must feel like quite a coup.
