“LRPD officers responded to a shots fired call at 5714 Liberty Cove at 11:26 p.m. yesterday, where they found a man suffering from an apparent gunshot wound.

Paramedics attempted to save the man’s life, but he died at the scene. The Pulaski County coroner transported his body to the Arkansas State Crime Lab to be autopsied and identified.

The investigation is ongoing and no potential suspects have been named.

This is the 20th homicide this year, according to the city’s official count. At this time last year there were 26 homicides in Little Rock, meaning homicides are down about 23% so far compared to 2023.

Russ Racop, who runs Snarky Media Report, counts 23 homicides in 2024 so far. The discrepancy between Racop’s count and the city’s count comes from two cases where a police officer killed someone – one of them Bryan Malinowski – and a fatal hit and run on April 17.”
