Arkansas Business runs down the Arkansas Public Service Commission’s rejection of Entergy Arkansas’s $142 million offer to settle a complaint over mismanagement of the Grand Gulf nuclear plant in Mississippi and other issues including executive pay and tax strategies.

Key point: Entergy settled with Mississippi Entergy for $300 million including cash payments or bill credits worth about $80 to an average customer. The Arkansas offer included nothing for ratepayers. Also, the PSC said Entergy wanted a broad exemption from future claims over Grand Gulf.

When the Arkansas PSC called the Entergy proposal a “low-ball” offer, I think they were too kind.
