President Joe Biden’s Sunday afternoon bombshell that he was ducking out of the 2024 presidential race launched Democrats nationwide into action.

By Monday afternoon, Arkansas Democrats announced they were joining Biden, Bill and Hillary Clinton, Kentucky Gov. Andy Beshear, U.S. Rep. Nancy Pelosi and other heavy-hitters to support the promotion of Vice President Kamala Harris to the Oval Office.

Here’s their full press release, shared Monday evening.

The Democratic Party of Arkansas is thrilled to announce that our delegation to the Democratic National Convention has voted to endorse Vice President Kamala Harris for President of the United States. The delegation met virtually tonight and voted unanimously to make public their intent to support Vice President Harris at the national convention in August.

“No one is better prepared than Vice President Harris to prosecute the case against Donald Trump and articulate how Democrats are working for a Better Arkansas,” Democratic Party of Arkansas Delegation Chair Grant Tennille said.

“At this critical time in our nation’s history, the Vice President is prepared, poised, and right out of the gate demonstrating how strong she will be as our nominee.”

Vice President Harris has consistently demonstrated her dedication to justice, equality, and responsible governance throughout her career. Her leadership as Vice President has been instrumental in advancing key policy initiatives that have delivered billions for vital services, infrastructure, and debit relief to the people of Arkansas.

Our unanimous endorsement reflects the unity and enthusiasm within our party for Vice President Harris’s candidacy. Her historic candidacy and the sheer explosion of support we have seen in the past 24 hours will lift Democratic candidates from the county courthouse to the White House.
